Hello everyone!
I would like to share some of my experience from Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire. I took my first tournament and play in this game by going to Cracow for "First Cracow Championship in Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire". It was so great event! As the beginner and person who hasn't played it before I was happy taking 6th place. But let start from the beginning.
I decided to jump in a month before tournament. At the beginning of March I bought starter set with four available expansions and started slowly preparing. Because I haven't got anyone with whom I could play or train I was only watching battle report and learning rules.
For warband I choose Steelheart's Champions. They seemed for me great for start, however I was concerning Magore's Fiends (especially the dog) when they were released. Unfortunately I didn't finish painting models so they were presenting only in grey scale scheme.

Chciałbym podzielić się moimi wrażeniami z gry Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire. Moja pierwsza rozgrywka, a zarazem i pierwszy turniej, miała miejsce na "I Mistrzostwach Krakowa w Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire". Naprawdę było warto wziąść udział! Jako początkujący, który nie miał możliwości grać wcześniej, byłem naprawdę szczęśliwy zajmując szóste miejsce. Ale zacznijmy od początku.
Zdecydowałem się na wzięcie udziału w rozgrywce miesiąc przed turniejem. Na początku marca kupiłem zestaw startowy z czterema wtedy dostępnymi rozszerzeniami i zacząłem powoli się przygotowywać. Ponieważ nie mam nikogo, z kim mógłbym grać lub trenować, oglądałem tylko raporty z pojedynków na Youtube i uczyłem się zasad wraz z działaniem kart.
Jako drużynę wybrałem Steelheart's Champions. Wydawali się idealni na początek, jednak rozważałem Magore's Fiends (zwłaszcza psa), kiedy tylko pojawili się w sprzedaży. Niestety nie udało mi się pomalować modeli na turniej, więc prezentowali tylko w skali szarości.
Constructing competitive deck for me as newbie was real problem. I was concerning defensive play style with keeping all fighters alive (Eternals and Complete Victory) but Katophranes were so much tempting for me that finally I make this deck:
Złożenie kompetytywnej talii dla mnie jako początkującego było prawdziwym wyzwaniem. Rozważałem defensywny styl gry z utrzymywaniem wszystkich postaci przy życiu (Eternals i Complete Victory), ale Katophrany były dla mnie najbardziej sensowne, że w końcu zrobiłem taką talię:

The strategy was simple. Obryn and Severin were going in first line for bloody slaughter taking as much point as they were able (Scavenge) with sacrificing themselves (Sacrificial Pawn). After losing them most of objectives cards were able to be used to gain glory points (Alone in the Darkness, Dauntless and Consecrated Area). Daylight Robbery and Spoils of Battle were generating additional haste in gaining Katophrane's upgrades on Angharad which was staying in back. Trust to Luck and Duel of Wits were giving necessary draw to reach all cards from deck. With all Katophranes Brightshield was only making victory points. Army of One, Deathly Fortitude and Illusory Fighter were used to save she from being slain. I must say that deck was very good against aggressive war bands. The results against the following fraction on tournament:
Strategia była prosta. Obryn i Severin idą w pierwszej linii na krwawą rzeź, biorąc tyle punktów ile tylko zdołają (Scavenge), wliczając w to ich stratę (Sacrificial Pawn). Po ich stracie większość warunków z kart zadań była do zrealizowania do zdobycia punktów (Alone in the Darkness, Dauntless i Consecrated Area). Daylight Robbery i Spoils of Battle dodawały dodatkowe tempo w zdobywaniu Katophranowych ulepszeń na Angharad, która pozostawała w tyle. Trust to Luck i Duel of Wits dawało niezbędne dociągnięcia z talii, aby dotrzeć do wszystkich kart. Przy wszystkich Katophranach Brightshield tylko zdobywała punkty zwycięstwa. Army of One, Deathly Fortitude i Illusory Fighter służyły do uratowania jej przed stratą. Muszę przyznać, że całość była bardzo dobra w walce z agresywnymi bandami. Wyniki przeciwko następującym frakcjom na turnieju:
1 - Magore's Fiends 2-1
2 - Steelheart's Champions 1-2
3 - Magore's Fiends 2-1
4 - The Farstriders 2-0
5 - Steelheart's Champions 1-2
After all I realized that my deck wasn't totally prepare for defensive style war bands and first wins with them were probably the fact that no one was expecting Katophranes. Now when Sigmar's Relics deck build appears on Warhammer Underworlds I am going to make some upgrades for deck and finish painting models for next event. Or maybe I should go for Ironskull's Boyz?
Po turnieju zdałem sobie sprawę, że moja talia nie była w pełni przygotowana na defensywne drużyny, a pierwsze zwycięstwa z nimi były spowodowane prawdopodobnie tym, że nikt nie spodziewał się Katophranów. Teraz, gdy na stronie Warhammer Underworlds pojawiła się konstrukcja Sigmar's Relics zamierzam zrobić kilka ulepszeń dla swojej talii i dokończyć malować modele do następnego turnieju. A może powinienem spróbować zagrać Ironskull's Boyz?
